About PRO Rumors

PRO Rumors is a personalized baseball newspaper that delivers only relevant articles to your web dashboard, inbox, SMS or iPhone. The information is vetted by a collection of volunteer writers to ensure the highest speed and quality of breaking baseball news. We’re better than traditional news outlets because we quickly and easily delivers baseball news based on what you want. Using the service is as simple as selecting a favorite team and information will be sent to you. Go ahead and set your delivery preferences today!

The Problem

The original concept was started by Allan Teruel in 2009. He had difficulties trying to find trusted Major League Baseball news quickly for the San Francisco Giants. He was not satisfied with the speed nor the depth of news coverage that the national and local sports journalists provided. He wanted a 360-degree view of the baseball news that he cared about, and he didn't want to have to filter through the noise to get it.

The Solution

Today, PRO Rumors is one of the leading publishers of trusted and responsible baseball journalism. The articles are created by volunteer writers 365 days of the year. Over the past year, PRO Rumors has established itself as a profitable web and mobile company, and we have seen quarter-over-quarter increases in mobile app sales and page views.

Current sports media companies take a top-down approach to content, where editors publish information based on what will appeal to the broadest audience. What results is a lot of noise. We take the bottom-up approach, where we deliver only what you are interested in.

Allan Teruel

Allan is a jack-of-all-trades and oversees the day-to-day duties of PRO Rumors. On most days, you can usually find him in front of his computer coding in Ruby on Rails, Objective-C or Java. On other days, he's working the phones with reporters from all over the United States, Venezuela, the Caribbean and Japan. In his spare time he plays softball and hangs out with his dog Padmé - the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Allan has a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Santa Clara University. You can email Allan at allan@prorumors.com

Renelito Delos Santos

Renelito helps Allan out with the system and product design. He's from Portland, Oregon, so he didn't have a hometown team, but he adopted the San Francisco Giants at an early age. His lifelong dream was fulfilled when they finally won the World Series in 2010. Renelito has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University and he's a candidate for an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University. You can email Renelito at renelito_delossantos@prorumors.com

Ryan Todd

Ryan has been a baseball fan ever since he played for the Dodgers minor league affiliate team in 1989… the T-Ball Dodgers. This is when he fell in love with America’s favorite past time, as well as the Dodgers. He recently obtained his bachelors degree in a field which has nothing to do with journalism or writing and will not help him whatsoever as he tries to bring the latest and greatest baseball news to you! He enjoys discussing baseball related topics with other baseball junkies so drop him an email. You can email Ryan at ryan@prorumors.com

Juan Dominguez

Juan's baseball journey started when he was four years old his parents decided to throw a baseball-themed birthday party. He grew up to be a hardcore fan the Tiburones de la Guaira of Venezuela. When he's not handling the day-to-day staff writing duties, Juan plays amateur baseball and scouting reports say that he has a mean slider. You can email Juan at juan@prorumors.com

Ted Banucci

Ted helps out with the backend systems and dabbles in making really cool videos. A New York suburb native, Ted was branded a Yankees fan upon arrival to the world. Literally. His father overpowered a 300-pound delivery nurse to actually brand a screaming baby with a cattle-prod. Aside from being an all-star T-ball player and holding a Reggie bar single-sitting consumption record, his first MLB experience was following the 1977 and 1978 World Series Champion Yankees. Held back by conspiracists and any sort of talent to play professionally, Ted continues the dream in San Jose softball and wiffleball tournaments, always a champion in one way or another. You can email Ted at tbanucci@prorumors.com

Alex Schekin

Alex is our Java hacker. He's responsible for each and every pixel on our awesome Android app. When he's not being a ninja coder, Alex loves his time outdoors on 4x4 trucks and mountain bikes. Mostly he enjoys spending time with his family: his wife Olga, three year old Timur (in the picture) and five month old Juliana.

Padmé The Rhodesian Ridgeback

Padmé is the Chief Troublemaker of PRO Rumors and in charge of customer support and social media. If you get a support email or a response on Twitter or Facebook, it's likely from Padmé. When she's not working, she's usually up to no good by surfing the countertop, going through the trash, digging holes in the backyard or sleeping. Padmé turns two in April 2011 and aspires to enter the MLB draft as soon as she is eligible. You can email Padmé at support@prorumors.com
